a humble start

In 2001, a mother and her two daughters,  Olga Vega Lindo, Martha Rospigliosi Vega and Maritza Rospigliosi Vega from Villa Maria del Triunfo, Peru, started a hot lunch program which was the first Rurapuk program.

National american miss

When National American Miss, Haley Asofsky, visited our center in 2013, she was inspired by the hot lunch program and the textile company Machu Picchu Stars, SAC. that worked with local women in our center. With her support, we started a preschool and championed a vision clinic for children and adults.

Hot lunch

Served hot, nutritious, vegetarian meals for kids using the perfect mixture of caring and flavor. 

TUTORING

Children received personalized math and reading classes from specialists to help them with school work.

Health

Rurapuk provided dental hygiene and homeopathy consultations, parasite tests, vision and medical check-ups, and reflexology training

summer camp

Students spend the summer engaged in activities such as art, dance, games, and tutoring.

The youth group explored relationships, identity, sexuality, and civic engagement through discussions, multimedia, art, cooperative games, and field trips.

Homework help

Children finished school homework with the help of local teachers. They also learned yoga postures such as tandem Apple Tree, and practiced meditation to help calm wiggly bodies.
